National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
National grassroots mental health organization that raises awareness and provides support and education to people with mental health conditions and their families.   

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
Federal agency responsible for research on mental health disorders; part of the National Institute of Health. Offers information on a wide range of topics and the latest research.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
Federal agency that leads public health efforts to advance behavioral health.
Offers an online treatment locator.

MentalHealth.gov
US Health and Human Services website with information and resources for individuals, families, youth and communities.

Mental Health America
Community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and to promoting the overall mental health of all Americans. 
Offers mental health screening tools and a Where to Get Help interactive online tool.

The Kennedy Forum
Nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with mental illness, addiction and brain disease. Offers issue and policy briefs, toolkits and videos.

The National Council for Behavioral Health
Professional organization of mental healthcare providers, government entities, and other service providers.
Search tool to find a provider by state.      

The Treatment Advocacy Center
National nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating barriers to timely treatment. Informational resources, including documentation of the laws and standards in each state. 

American Psychological Association
Online consumer resource featuring information related to psychological issues affecting physical and emotional well-being, including and online Psychologist Locator.

Peer-directed national organization offering in-person and online peer support and information for people living with mood disorders.

International Bipolar Foundation
Nonprofit organization featuring stories and advice shared by people living with bipolar disorder.

National Eating Disorders Association
Nonprofit supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders.

Comprehensive Understanding via Research and Education into Schizophrenia (CURESZ Foundation)

Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI)
AAHI is a health and wellness initiative of Maryland’s Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.

Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA)
AAPA is a San Francisco-based non-profit organization of Asian American mental health professionals, with the mission of advancing the mental health and well-being of Asian American communities through research, professional practice, education and policy.

Therapy for Latinx
A database of therapists who either identify as Latinx or has worked closely with and understands the unique needs of the Latinx community. The website is also offered in Spanish.

American Society of Hispanic Psychiatry
Promotes the research, education, advocacy and support for those in the Hispanic community. Offers a find a physician feature on their website.

WeRNative
An online platform made for Native youth, by Native youth where young people can ask questions, find mental health resources, and more.

Indian Health Service
IHS provides a comprehensive health service delivery system for approximately 2.6 million American Indians and Alaska Natives who belong to 574 federally recognized tribes.

LGBTQ+ Resources

National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network
A network whose goal is to increase access to healing justice resources for queer and trans people of color, offering a queer trans therapists of color directory.

The Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists
Offers resources for LGBTQ individuals experiencing mental health conditions and psychiatric professionals with LGBTQ clients.

The Gay and Lesbian Medical Association’s Provider Directory
A search tool that can locate a LGBTQ-inclusive health care provider.

The LGBT National Help Center
Offers confidential peer support connections for LGBTQ youth, adults and seniors, including phone, text and online chat.

The National Center for Transgender Equality
Offers resources for transgender individuals, including information on the right to access health care.

The Trevor Project
A support network for LGBTQ youth providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention, including a 24-hour text line (text “START” to 678678).

Asian Mental Health Collective
A global non-profit organization with the mission of normalizing and de-stigmatizing mental health within the Asian community through projects such as Facebook group, resource library, video web-series and meet-up groups.

A tool to connect with mental health professionals serving immigrant patients.

An organization in England and Wales offering support and campaign opportunities for people impacted by mental health conditions.

Zimbabwe OCD Trust 
Raises awareness of the existence of obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders among  Zimbabwean communities and provides support to individuals and families of those who have been diagnosed.
